Our castor oil is among our most valuable Malagasy vegetable oils. It comes from the Androy region in southern Madagascar, where castor beans naturally thrive in a dry, sunny climate. The fruit, recognizable by its spiky skin which changes color from green to red depending on the degree of ripeness, contains three particularly oil-rich seeds. When fully ripe, the castor bean’s outer shell dries out and opens on its own, revealing the precious seeds. After harvesting, the seeds are carefully cleaned and then gently cold-pressed. This mechanical process preserves their natural properties. The gentle extraction yields a pure, unadulterated oil that retains the full nutritional value of the castor bean. The oil is then carefully bottled at our facility in France. This ensures rigorous quality control at every stage – from harvest to the finished bottle.
